Army sets up helplines in Kashmir to spread awareness

Army officers said the helplines were set up as there is a sense of uncertainty among people because the coronavirus outbreak is spreading in India.

"Many people are not sure what measures they should take to protect themselves and their family. The Army has been regularly updating the people with relevant information through various platforms," they said.

The Army said these initiatives are being taken to ensure that people are well-informed and they unknowingly don't become carriers of the viral infection.
People in Srinagar can reach out for help by dialing 0194-2467326. Here is the list of helpline numbers for other areas:
Baramulla: 0195-2238826
Kupwara: 0195-5252996
Shalteng: 0194-2496618
Awantipura: 0193-3247087.
Army officers said these helplines will remain operational 24x7 to address answer questions on prevention of Covid-19.
As on Tuesday, 492 people had tested positive for Covid-19 in India. In Jammu and Kashmir, four cases have reported so far.
